Energy when it counts: The Einstein Elevator

An outstanding example is the Einstein Elevator of the HITec Center of Leibniz University Hannover. The aim of the facility is to carry out scientific experiments under conditions of variable gravity – up to almost weightlessness. In a 40 m high vacuum tower, an experimental capsule with a mass weighing several tons is set into parabolic flight – by means of linear high-performance acceleration based on the principle of a magnetic levitation system.
