String Management Unit (SMU)

  • String management controller with CAN and Ethernet communication interface, plus BAT-COM interface for LTO battery modules
  • Integrated precharge circuit
  • Electrically isolated DC link and storage when switched off, using bipolar high-power contactors
  • Overcurrent protection via high-performance DC fuse
  • Integrated precise measurement of voltage, current, power, and temperature
  • Configuration via the Stercom diagnostic interface

Applications of the SMU:

  • Energy storage systems with up to 1000 V and 370 A power
  • Part of the Stercom Direct Battery Power Booster systems
