Not every infrastructure operates under the same grid conditions. While standard grids worldwide typically run on 50 Hz or 60 Hz, specialized applications – such as airport apron operations – often rely on 115 V / 400 Hz systems.
This is exactly why Stercom has expanded its 22 kW OnBoard Charger with a new 400 Hz option.This turns one charger into an even more flexible solution for a wide range of applications – from municipal utility vehicles and sweepers to ground support equipment and specialized airport vehicles.

Airport vehicles, apron infrastructure and many specialized applications operate with different grid frequencies than traditional industrial or standard power grids.
A charger must adapt to that – not the other way around.
That is why the Stercom OBC supports not only standard 50/60 Hz grids, but now also 3-phase AC input with 115 V at 400 Hz.

In standard operation at 50/60 Hz, the charger continues to deliver up to 22 kW charging power with 3-phase supply up to 32 A.
In 400 Hz mode, with 115 V input voltage, the system provides an output power of approximately 10.5 kW – perfectly optimized for specialized applications with different infrastructure requirements.
This creates a flexible charging solution for a wide range of applications – reliable, efficient and ready for demanding environments.
